For almost 100 years Jotun has been protecting assets in the harshest conditions. Our knowledge and expertise in long lasting corrosion protection is supporting the transition to renewable wind energy.
It is estimated that steel production is responsible for as much as 9% of global emissions, around 3.5 billion tonnes of CO₂ every year, according to a study by the Worldsteel Association. There are no accurate figures of the carbon cost of replacing steel, but it has been estimated by a 2015 DNV report that as much as 35% of all steel corrosion could have been avoided if the steel was better protected.
High-performing coatings combined with decades of experience in the protection of assets including offshore installations in the North Sea, will enable our customers to protect their assets against corrosion and degradation. Proven long lasting protection can significantly reduce the need for maintenance over the lifecycle of the asset – contributing to lower emissions, supporting the green energy shift and reducing the overall levelized cost of energy (LCOE).
